MS Environment and Resources (E-IPER)/MBA Joint Degree

The MBA/MS Environment and Resources (E-IPER) joint degree program with the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability offers you the opportunity to develop a background in the science, engineering, and technology that underlie environmental problems. You’ll integrate that knowledge with your MBA curriculum to become an influential and innovative leader addressing environmental issues — either directly or peripherally.

Degree Requirements

MBA Units 84
E-IPER MS Units 45*
Total Units 129
Time to Complete 7 to 9 quarters (2 1/2 to 3 years)

In this program, you will spend most of your first year taking MBA courses, and a mix of business and E-IPER courses thereafter. Depending on your course load, you will need anywhere from one to three additional quarters to complete the program, though you should plan on two to three additional quarters. In one of your final quarters, you will complete a capstone project that allows you to demonstrate your ability to integrate business, science, and engineering knowledge.

How to Apply

You may apply in any round for this joint degree program.

We will forward your application and personal statement to the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources (E-IPER) in the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. Either the GMAT or GRE is accepted for E-IPER. If you are admitted to the MBA program, you will receive notification of your E-IPER decision at the same time as your MBA admission.

As an alternative, you may apply to the MS Environment and Resources (E-IPER) program during your first year of the MBA program.

If you are applying for deferred enrollment, you may not apply to this joint degree program until your first year of the MBA program.

If you are not admitted to the MBA program, it is not possible to enroll solely in the MS Environment and Resources program.
