Hosted by Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, the Stanford Initiative on Business and Environmental Sustainability Research Conference Series is designed to elevate cutting-edge research pertinent to environmental sustainability and to enhance dialogue among researchers, and between researchers and those who put knowledge into practice. The knowledge featured at each conference will be made available widely, both through academic and general-audience outlets.

Due to scheduling conflicts, we had to cancel our conference to address approaches to the analysis of human-natural systems that incorporate a range of biophysical and human behavioral elements.

December 14–15, 2022

The conference will focus on the emerging practice of global corporations to disclose their current and/or intended future greenhouse gas emissions.

April 7–8, 2023

Environmental justice scholarship is imperative to develop the knowledge needed to create just ethical, and resilient solutions for sustainability for the world’s most challenging social-environmental problems.

April 14–15, 2023

This conference will bring together climate scientists and engineers from academia, government, and the private sector, as well as scholars who use climate science to inform policy and decision-making.

May 17–18, 2023

This conference is designed to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration to create a sustainable toolkit to cultivate positive habits for our future and a sense of shared prosperity.
