Applying for Joint & Dual Degrees

You may apply in any round for this joint degree program.

You must apply separately, and be admitted, to both the Stanford Law School and Stanford GSB.

If you are currently a JD student, you only need to submit your application to Stanford GSB for the MBA program. Conversely, if you are currently an MBA student, you only need to submit your application to SLS for the JD program.

If you are admitted to both programs, you may start your studies at either the SLS or Stanford GSB. Most JD/MBA students start at the SLS.

You may apply in any round for this joint degree program.

We will forward your application and personal statement to the Stanford Graduate School of Education or GSE. You do not need to apply separately to the GSE. The GSE will accept either the GMAT or GRE for the MA Education/MBA joint degree program. If you are admitted to the MBA program, you will receive notification of your GSE decision at the same time as your MBA admission.

As an alternative, you may apply to the MA Education/MBA program during your first year of the MBA program.

If you are applying for deferred enrollment, you may not apply to this joint degree program until your first year of the MBA program.

If you are not admitted to the MBA program, it is not possible to enroll solely in the MA Education.

You may apply in any round for this dual degree program.

You must apply separately, and be accepted, to both the Stanford School of Medicine and Stanford GSB.

You may apply to the MBA program during your first, second, or third year at the school of medicine. However, we strongly advise that you apply to the MBA program in your third year. If you apply in your first or second year of medical school, you may be eligible to defer your enrollment.

You may apply in any round for this joint degree program.

We will forward your application and personal statement to the Stanford Public Policy Program in the Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. You do not need to apply separately to the public policy program. If you are admitted to the MBA program, you will receive notification of your MPP decision at the same time as your MBA admission.

As an alternative, you may apply to the MPP/MBA program during your first year of the MBA program.

If you are applying for deferred enrollment, you may not apply to this joint degree program until your first year of the MBA program.

If you are not admitted to the MBA program, it is not possible to enroll solely in the MPP.

You must apply and be accepted independently to both the computer science department at the Stanford School of Engineering and Stanford GSB.

We recommend that you apply to Stanford GSB in Round 2. You may apply in Round 1, but if admitted to the MBA program, you will be required to respond to your admission offer before receiving your decision from the computer science department. If you apply in Round 3, you will not receive your Stanford GSB decision until May, which is after the deadline to respond to an offer from the computer science department.

You may be required to demonstrate English language proficiency. Learn more about the MBA program’s requirement and the university’s exam requirements for international applicants.

As an alternative, you may apply to the MS Computer Science/MBA joint degree program during your first year at Stanford GSB.

If you are applying for deferred enrollment, you may not apply to this joint degree program until your first year of the MBA program.

If you are admitted to both programs, you may start your studies at either the Computer Science Department or at Stanford GSB.

You must apply and be accepted independently to both the electrical engineering department at the Stanford School of Engineering and Stanford GSB.

We recommend that you apply to Stanford GSB in Round 2. You may apply in Round 1, but if admitted to the MBA program, you will be required to respond to your admission offer before receiving your decision from the electrical engineering department. If you apply in Round 3, you will not receive your Stanford GSB decision until May, which is after the deadline to respond to an offer from the electrical engineering department.

We will forward your application and personal statement to the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources in the Stanford School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences. Either the GMAT or GRE is accepted for the MS Environment and Resources/MBA. If you are admitted to the MBA program, you will receive notification of your E-IPER decision at the same time as your MBA admission.

As an alternative, you may apply to the MS Environment and Resources (E-IPER)/MBA program during your first year of the MBA program.

If you are applying for deferred enrollment, you may not apply to this joint degree program until your first year of the MBA program.

If you are not admitted to the MBA program, it is not possible to enroll solely in the MS Environment and Resources.
