International Participants

Executive Education has welcomed international attendees from more than 140 countries.

Visa Requirements for Residential Programs

Citizens from Visa Waiver Program countries must apply for authorization to travel to the United States using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization.

Other foreign citizens will need a nonimmigrant visa. For more information about visa and passport requirements, visit the U.S. Department of State.

The B-1/B-2 visa (for visits involving a combination of business and tourism) is the appropriate visa for entry into the United States for those participants who must have one.

When applying for a visa, you should include your Stanford program admission letter with your visa application. It is important to emphasize that the visit is for business purposes.

Visa Requirements for Online Programs

Our online programs, including Stanford LEAD and Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate, do not require visas.

English-Language Proficiency

We do not require that you take the TOEFL or other English-language exam in order to apply to or qualify for our in-person or online executive education programs. However, participants need to be able to both understand and speak English at a level that allows them to participate fully in the fast-paced programs.
