Ching Hao has served in the Singapore Armed Forces for 17 years. A fighter pilot by training, he has commanded an F-16 fighter squadron and led a flyby of 20 F-16s forming the number “50” to celebrate Singapore’s golden jubilee. Ching Hao was co-exercise director for exercise Cope Tiger 2017, a trilateral air combat exercise that involved about 70 aircraft and 2,000 personnel from the United States, Thailand, and Singapore. Ching Hao has also worked in the Ministry of Defence, where he shaped Singapore’s defense relations with key partners. In his most recent appointment, he was responsible for policies to ensure high operational readiness, including the portfolio management of exercises and the development of future warfighting strategies and concepts.
