Greg A. Tucker, MBA ’86

Soon after finishing his engineering degree, Greg A. Tucker wrote that he “wanted to pivot away from technical execution and toward building things that scaled through people, strategy, and systems.” So, he enrolled in the GSB’s MBA program to build a foundation of business knowledge and become part of its strong alumni community. Today, as a customer experience and journey mapping expert, he has accomplished exactly what he set out to do.

Building on customer experience leadership positions at companies like Clorox and Copart post-graduation, Greg founded his own consultancy, Tucker & Company, in 1996. As Tucker & Company’s CEO, CXO, CMO, and CCXP, Greg has pioneered CX transformations for industry leaders like Google, Amazon, General Electric, and Wells Fargo. In total, Tucker & Company has identified over $25 billion in CX revenue opportunities for clients through its data-driven, analytical approach. Outside of his day job, Greg serves on the board of directors of the Customer Experience Professionals Association and has received several accolades for his work, including the CXPA Innovation Award for CX results delivery and being named a registered CX Expert.

Meanwhile, Greg has remained deeply engaged with the GSB. “Greg is a cornerstone of the Dallas GSB community — always engaged, always enthusiastic, and always bringing people together,” says Steven Riskey, MBA ’08. Beyond his presence at local chapter events and even hosting them in his home, Greg has played a major role in expanding the Stanford Alumni Consulting Team’s activities beyond the Bay Area. ACT provides GSB alumni with a chance to use their skills and experience to help nonprofit organizations in their communities, and Greg has helped lead more than 10 Dallas-based ACT projects. This year, Greg was elected to the GSB Alumni Association Board of Directors, which he writes is “an opportunity to bring more business thinking into mission-driven work.” Steven adds, “He’s all-in for the GSB in every sense — generous with his time, endlessly energetic, and an inspiration to so many of us who’ve been lucky enough to work alongside him.”
