Organization

One Life Counseling Center was established in 2015 to provide accessible, compassionate, and affordable mental health care to individuals and families—regardless of income, insurance status, or language. The organization has grown significantly in response to rising community needs.  Today, One Life has over 125 employees and therapists, providing services across nine locations and through partnerships with 29 schools in San Mateo County.

One Life Counseling services include therapy, school-based counseling, trauma-informed care, family support, case management, and access to basic needs like food and hygiene supplies. Their services are offered in nine languages, with 40+ therapists providing care in Spanish.

Issue

How can One Life Counseling increase their financial insight to support strategic decision-making across their portfolio of program offerings?

Situation

As One Life Counseling scales, they are focused on strengthening their internal infrastructure and support for strategic decision-making to sustain their mission. One Life offers multiple programs across clinical, school-based, and community settings. They are requesting ACT support to provide their leadership and Board with financial insight for strategic decision-making across their portfolio of program offerings.

Project

One Life Counseling would like ACT support to understand the cost structure and profitability of their program portfolio and provide financial insight for strategic decision-making.

Key Deliverables are:

  1. Cost structure and profitability analysis for the OneLife Counseling program portfolio.
  2. Evaluate program financial sustainability and funding requirements to scale.
  3. Provide financial insight that supports OneLife Counseling leadership and Board strategic decision-making in areas such as resource allocation and response to future funding scenarios.
