Socio-Cultural Factors And Inter-Organizational Relations

In a study of consulates and embassies as examples of international branch organizations it is found that similarity of sociocultural background is strongly related to interactions between these organizations when located in a single host environ- ment. However, cultural similarity is not related to either the frequency or variety of environmental contacts. Organization- environment relations for organizations of different cultural back- grounds are similarly influenced by task-related aspects of the local environment.
