Executive Challenge is a unique learning experience in which first-year Stanford GSB MBA students participate in experiential leadership challenges that are judged by alumni and faculty.
More than 200 alumni judges journeyed back to campus from 17 US states and seven other countries to judge the 2023 Executive Challenge.
The Executive Challenge is a critical component of the first–year MBA curriculum and is the culminating event for fall quarter. Students are divided into squads and assigned cases that require them to assume the roles of senior executives. The experience is designed to simulate a business environment where complex information needs to be consumed quickly.Â
Each round is judged by a panel of alumni, who provide real-time feedback on students’ decisions, behaviors, and presentations. Executive Challenge is one of the many volunteer activities alumni can participate in that helps establish a bridge between student and alumni communities.
