Director
Forbes Marshall
Farhad Forbes is director of Forbes Marshall and is responsible for the Industrial Process Automation and Control Group of
the company. He has been at Forbes Marshall since 1982.
Forbes Marshall is one of India’s leading companies in the fields of steam engineering, energy conservation, utilities management, and industrial process automation and control. The company employs over 1,100 people, most of whom are qualified professionals in mechanical engineering and instrumentation and chemical engineering. The company has joint ventures and alliances with companies in Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Japan. Customers include process industries such as the chemical, petrochemical, power, steel and other metals, textiles, food and beverages, distilleries and breweries, water, and waste water industries serving markets in India, South East and East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and North and South America.
Previously, Mr. Forbes was a member of the R&D technical staff of Hewlett Packard Company in Palo Alto, California.
Mr. Forbes is currently cochairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) National Committee on Affirmative Action and a member of the executive committee of Family Business Network International. He is past chairman of CII Family
Business Network India, CII Western Region, and CII Western Region Family Business Sub - Committee. He was conferred
the CII President’s Award for outstanding leadership to CII’s Western Region and for furthering the overall CII agenda.
He is past chairman and current member of the Sloan Advisory board at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a recipient of the Sloan Distinguished Alumni Service Award.
Mr. Forbes received his BS in 1977 and his MS in electrical engineering in 1979 from Stanford University. He received his MS
in management in 1991 in the Sloan Masters Program from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
