Bio

Scull has been a VC investor for the past 20 years. He is a co-founding managing director of Southern Cross Venture Partners, with offices in Palo Alto, Sydney, and Shanghai through a partnership with Softbank China Venture Capital, and a primary focus on renewable energy and cleantech investments. He is also an investment committee member of Blackbird Ventures, an early stage venture firm based in Sydney.  Previously he was a venture partner and member of the Investment Committee of the venture capital firm Allen & Buckeridge. As an investor, he has served on the boards of several private and public companies.

Prior to being an investor he had successful management career. He was the CEO of two venture capital backed companies, Macromind (which merged to become Macromedia and later acquired by Adobe) and PF Magic (acquired by the Learning Company).  Before that he was a marketing executive at Apple where he helped launch the Macintosh personal computer and then started and led Apple’s highly successful Desktop Publishing efforts.

Scull received his MBA from Harvard University and Bachelor degree from the University of Oklahoma. He was born and raised in Indonesia and Singapore. He enjoys travel, golf, swimming, biking, and pickleball.
