"Many of us Sloans signed up for the programme in anticipation of a life-transforming experience. A very important part of this would be to embrace the rich academic knowledge that the GSB offers. I saw my role as Academic Co-Chair as being our class' bridge to the professors, to work with the professors to customize teaching and learning in a way that would be most impactful for the Sloans."

Academics
Expanding your business knowledge and skills
The Stanford Sloan Program helps you get in touch with leading-edge thinking. The Business School takes advantage of interdisciplinary collaboration among Stanford’s seven schools to fuel discussion of innovative solutions to pressing business and global issues. As a Sloan Fellow you will be prepared to move from your past experience to higher levels of general management that are key to the next phase of your career.
The Experience
- The year starts in late August with a special two-day orientation, followed by a three-week program to help Sloans prepare for the academic challenges of the upcoming year.
- Sloan Fellows have 11 required courses designed specifically for the program and spread over three academic quarters.
- In addition, you must choose a minimum of four electives from roughly 100 available at the GSB.
- The Sloan Leadership Development program is spread throughout the year to help you discover new ways to think and learn about leadership and to develop your personal leadership style. It includes guest speakers, study trips, and active leadership-by-doing including study groups, class leadership, and project teams.
