Stanford Graduate School of Business has a long history of innovation in investment education, producing the ideas and leaders that have shaped the modern financial landscape.

Our Initiative for Investing, established in early 2025, builds on this foundation, combining Stanford’s deep expertise in innovation, strategic leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking with curriculum, extracurricular programs, research, and high-impact alumni engagement to create the next generation of influential leaders in investing and strengthen the Stanford investing community.

Stanford GSB Investor Summit

Initiative for Investing hosts its inaugural Investor Summit with a full day of keynotes, forums, and engagement with leading investing professionals.

Investing Summer Internship Program

We are launching ISIP, a pilot program offering supplemental funding for summer 2026 internships at first-time investment funds led by Stanford alumni. This program provides students with invaluable experience, skill development, and exposure to investing in startup funds.

Students can identify eligible funds , and we will source and pre-approve some internship opportunities for them. Stanford alumni establishing first-time funds are encouraged to contact gsb_initiative_for_investing@stanford.edu to explore hiring a talented Stanford GSB intern.

Investing Curriculum

Stanford GSB offers a comprehensive curriculum of more than 40 courses designed to prepare students for careers in the investment industry, including a course originated by the legendary Jack MacDonald. Whether students arrive with prior experience or are exploring a new path in investing, they gain exposure to a wide range of asset classes through instruction from leading researchers and seasoned industry professionals.
