Barchi Gillai
Barchi Gillai is the staff leader of the Value Chain Innovation Initiative at Stanford GSB. She works with faculty and practitioners to foster and disseminate new knowledge in the field of value chain innovation. Her responsibilities include managing research projects and events, and supporting curriculum development.
Barchi has close to 20 years of work experience, including eight years as the Research Director of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum, where she led numerous research initiatives in collaboration with industry partners as well as other top academic institutions. In the following years, and prior to joining the Value Chain Innovation Initiative as its associate director, Barchi collaborated with VCII on several research projects, examining issues such as last-mile delivery, business-to-consumer e-commerce, business-to-business integration, and supply chain security. In parallel, she also served as an independent consultant to various organizations.
Barchi has authored several professional articles, white papers, book chapters, and case studies.
Barchi earned her PhD in Production Operations and Management from the department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. She also holds a MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
