Reimagining the ED: Ideas for Shaping the Emergency Department of the Future

The Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1998, seeks to gather perspectives on challenges facing patients and clinicians in clinical spaces from which ideas can be gleaned to focus further research and support efforts to keep FGI’s Guidelines for Design and Construction documents current with operations in the field. The process of collecting this information also provides an avenue to explore the implications of current Guidelines requirements and to assess the need for potential changes in future editions.
