Chen most recently led investment and the development of artificial-intelligence innovations at Bytedance, a Chinese mobile internet company with 250 million daily active users and a valuation of over $30 billion. The company provides AI-backed content globally through apps such as TikTok (which has absorbed Musical.ly) and Toutiao. She previously worked at Blue Lake Capital, which focuses on new AI ventures. Before that, she and three Stanford GSB alumni co-founded a Beijing e-commerce startup dealing with secondhand cars. Chen started her career at Procter & Gamble as a product manager, leading the $60 million Gillette Mach3 business in Greater China and achieving record market share. Her investments range from the leading self-driving AI technology to the U.S. mobile app for Craigslist.
