Stanford LEAD: Corporate Innovation Certificate

The LEAD Corporate Innovation Program curriculum: Eight in-depth courses. 200-plus hours of relevant content. One year of intense virtual, social, and global learning.

Which innovative ideas will deliver the greatest impact? How do you overcome organizational barriers to change? What will it take to move from idea to implementation? The Stanford LEAD curriculum is carefully designed to help you answer them all. Through a combination of key business fundamentals and innovation-focused electives, you’ll learn how to address the unique challenges and opportunities aspiring leaders face when trying to foster and implement change within an established organization.

Start With the Fundamentals

The Stanford LEAD Certificate in Corporate Innovation begins with three foundation courses in finance, strategy, and critical analytical thinking to give you the strategic business tools and techniques to accelerate change and transformation in your organization.

Accelerate Change – Customize Your Experience with Electives

Deepen your knowledge with the courses you find most relevant. Select five electives to match your specific interests, goals, and business challenges — from design thinking and negotiating to building business models and overcoming resistance to change.

What to Expect

Each course is eight weeks in duration, and you can take up to two courses per quarter. If needed, you can take a quarter off. The workload is demanding, so expect to spend an average of 3-5 hours per week, per course consuming the material, collaborating with team members, and completing the assignments. While the eight-course curriculum is designed to be completed in one year, in certain situations, participants may have the ability to take one course per quarter and finish the program in two years instead of one.

Earn Your Certificate

Demonstrate mastery of three foundation courses and five electives and you’ll receive a Stanford GSB certificate — a virtual badge to post on social media and a physical certificate to hang on your wall. Additionally, 24 continuing education units, or CEUs, will be awarded once you complete the certificate program.

Because of our selective admissions criteria and high-touch support model, we see much higher completion rates than other online program offerings. Our participants are expected to put in an average of three to five hours per week per course and come prepared to be an active contributor to all class discussions and projects. We anticipate that everyone who is accepted and puts in the work will receive the Corporate Innovation Certificate and CEUs.
