Statement on New Rules for International Students

Dean Jon Levin’s public statement in support of Stanford's response to new rules regarding international students.

July 08, 2020

Our response to the federal government’s July 06, 2020, announcement of modifications to its rule for international students taking online courses in Fall 2020:

“Stanford GSB stands firm in our commitment to educate future leaders from around the world. Our international students bring richness and vibrancy to our campus, and go on to create jobs, build organizations, and innovate in every area of business. The new Department of Homeland Security rules for international students are beyond disappointing. Rather than accommodate the difficult circumstances students and schools are facing due to the pandemic, they add uncertainty and challenge. We strongly support Stanford’s response to the new rules, and will continue to help our international students navigate the volatile immigration landscape.”
